The Ryan Newman Foundation in 2013
Thursday, January 31, 2013
We are excited about the start of the 2013 race season. During the off season, we have made some changes heading into the New Year.
We are in the early stages of rolling the Ryan Newman Foundation under the umbrella of Rescue Ranch. Rescue Ranch will encompass the mission of the Ryan Newman Foundation and more. In addition to the mission of the Ryan Newman Foundation, Rescue Ranch will include humane education, boarding facility, dog park, veterinary clinic and riding trails to name a few.
Shelly Nunn has resigned as the Executive Director of the Ryan Newman Foundation and Krissie Newman will assume the Ryan Newman Foundation duties during the 2013 year as we transition everything into Rescue Ranch.
Rescue Ranch is underway, and the building will start going up in the next few weeks. Angela and Jim have been working diligently to get the project moving along so we will be ready for our first education class at the Ranch this summer. Look for our website www.RescueRanch.com in the coming months.
We have a couple of upcoming events you may want to participate in. The 8th Annual Ryan Newman Foundation Annual Charity Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013. The tournament location has changed for 2013. It will take place on Lake Norman at Pinnacle Boat Ramp on Highway 150 in Mooresville, North Carolina from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
The cost for a two-man team is $200.00. There is an additional $50.00 charge to enter the big fish contest. We are capping the amount of boats allowed to compete to 175. Participants must be registered and entry fee must be received in order to secure a spot in the tournament. On-line registration will close at noon on Friday, December 6th.
If spots are still available, anglers can register at Bass Pro Shops on Thursday, December 12th from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Registrations will no longer be accepted the morning of the event. Click here to register for this year's fishing tournament.
Rescue Ranch will be participating in the Charlotte Checkers 3rd Annual Pooch Party on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. You are able to bring your 4-legged Checkers fans out to the game with you. Rescue Ranch will have a vendor table on location to provide attendees information about our facility. The Charlotte Checkers will provide members of Newman’s Pup Crew to the first 400 children who bring in an item from project H.A.L.O.’s wish list.
The event is presented by Project H.A.L.O. and tickets are $15 each with $5 going to Project H.A.L.O. To purchase tickets for this event, please visit www.gocheckers.com/halo and enter promo code RESCUE.
