Rescue Ranch Critter Camps

Critter Camps are designed to be fun, educational camp experiences for children who love animals. All camps involve daily interaction with animals, completing service projects, hearing from guest speakers, and experiencing animal-related activities.  Campers will learn how to train and care for animals and to promote humane animal care to others.

SUMMER 2017

FOR PRESCHOOL CAMPERS AGES 4 AND 5 

Cost:  $90 / child / week

Camp runs from 9am - 12pm

Campers must turn 4 by October 31, 2017

Be a Hero for Animals – These weeks’ campers will learn how to take care of all the animals that live at Rescue Ranch and will learn how they can be an animal’s superhero.  Campers will make crafts, play games, use sensory bins, and complete fun activities related to animals and superheroes. Campers are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero shirt on Wednesday.                           

                           Dates:            June 12 - 16

                                                  June 19 - 23

Seussical Animals – What could be better than Dr. Seuss and animals?! These weeks’ campers will dive into the magical world of Dr. Seuss with games, activities, and crafts while learning about and meeting the animals that call Rescue Ranch home.                          

                           Dates:            July 31 - August 4

FOR CAMPERS ENTERING KINDERGARTEN – 5TH GRADE

Cost:        $180 / child / week   

Camp runs from 9am - 3pm

Extended care available from 8am – 5pm ($10 / day)                                                           

 

Be a Hero for Animals – These weeks’ campers will learn how to take care of all the animals that live at Rescue Ranch and how they can be an animal’s superhero.  Campers will take part in cleaning enclosures and learning how to care for our animals, as well as learning about an animal’s life in a rescue.  Other fun activities include making crafts, playing games, and completing a service project for shelter animals. Campers are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero shirt on Wednesday.                           

                           Dates:            June 12 - 16

Amazing Animal Superpowers – We use our senses every day for survival, just like animals! How cool would it be if you could run as fast as a cheetah, or have night vision like an owl, or smell with your tongue like a snake?!  This week campers will learn about the special abilities animals have as well as play games using their senses. Campers will also meet the animals that live at Rescue Ranch and help with their daily care.

FOR CAMPERS ENTERING 6TH - 8TH GRADE 

Camp runs from 9am - 3pm

Extended care available from 8am – 5pm ($10 / day)

                                    Dates:            July 10 - 14

Future Veterinarian – Campers will spend the week learning about animals and what it takes to be a veterinarian. Each day there will be a different guest speaker that will provide an interactive demonstration.  Campers will learn about x-rays, surgery, sutures, dental health, and more. 
Campers will have a lab coat and a stethoscope to use throughout the week.

                                    Cost:              $200 / child / week

FOR CAMPERS WITH DISABILITIES

Camp runs from 9am - 12pm or 1pm – 4pm 

This camp is designed for children entering 1st – 6th grade with disabilities including by not limited to, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other special needs that require more supervision and a smaller group setting in order to have a successful camp experience.  Campers will be paired up with a buddy and will have a teacher ratio of 1:3. Each day will include hands on time with the animals, crafts, and time on our fully accessible playground. Certified teachers with exceptional children experience will be first aid and CPR certified, however there will not be a nurse onsite.
